Episode 64: In this episode, Amanda interviews her mother, Leslie Powers, about her childhood growing up in East Tennessee and Western North Carolina, how she met my father, and built her own career in computer programming during the dawn of the personal computer and internet age. They focus on how to handle tough or stressful situations at work, knowing when yo trust your gut and pivot away from a career that no longer serves you, and the power of finding the glimmers in your everyday life. They also practice manifesting their future selves by creating and sharing their vision boards (see Ep. 65), and support each other’s personal growth. They discuss her mother’s background, career journey, challenges faced in the workplace, her thoughts on marriage, parenting, and the lessons learned throughout their lives. The conversation highlights the importance of support, communication, and self-discovery in navigating life’s ups and downs.
